From time to time we have run across people that have been victims of similar scams.  A few things to always look for:

1) If it sounds too good to be true - it usually is!

2) Verify the legitimacy of the company with your local Better Business Bureau.

3) Ask if they are a Certified Water Specialist from third parties such as the Water Quality Association.  If they are, verify by looking them up on the WQA website!

If someone is running a legit business and really wants to help you with your water quality problems, they will be more than happy to provide you with all the information and resources you need to make a decision.  Just keep a keen eye out for scams!
